“In the old days, we’d go hunting by dogteam. We don’t bring much caribou in. Maybe about four, maybe three. But nowadays, I heard a lot of stories about our people go out with the vehicle, they bring a lot of caribou in. So that could go down too, eh?
You know, you bring too many caribou, so that should be slowed down, like, you know, people shooting too much caribou. If they stop for a couple of years, not stop but shooting too much caribou, they might go up.
I know a lot of elders, they used to tell me stories about hunting. I remember they had to take everything. If they see caribou, they don’t leave nothing behind. They take everything back because the hide, women, they need the hide too, eh. So they bring everything. Some use it for medicine too, eh.
So, you know, if people go out for the hunting they shouldn’t leave any meat around. So that’s no look good too eh. So I guess that’s all I’ll say.”
